Overview |
| The e-Echocardiography
courses are divided into two sections: Introduction to Echocardiography and Intermediate & Advanced Echocardiography. The Intermediate and Advanced Echocardiography has three levels - Fundamentals, Intraoperative, and Advanced sections.
All areas require a subscription for full access. You can click on the links below to see some sample pages. |
| |
| Introduction to Transesophageal Echocardiography |
| |
| Introduction to Echocardiography is targeted for the non-cardiac anesthesiologist who desires a general knowledge about the fundamental and intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography. Each chapter is a synopsis or review of the more indepth information covered in the intermediate and advanced syllabus. Cardiac anesthesiologists, cardiologists, or providers desiring an indepth exposure or review of transesophageal echocardiography should select the intermediate and advanced echocardiography subscription. |
| |
| Fundamentals of Transesophageal Echocardiography |
| |
| Basic echocardiography
includes courses on the physics, sound wave generation, bioeffects, basic
examination, basic anatomy,instrumentation, and
knobology of ultrasound. These courses provide a sound base for the echocardiography
student to review and test their knowledge before advancing to the intermediate
courses. Click on the basic button see an example of a basic course.
CME credit is available to subscribers. |

|
| |
| Intraoperative Transesophageal Echocardiography |
| |
| The intraoperative
echocardiography courses review normal and common abnormal echocardiographic
studies. All of the chambers of the heart and valves, with detailed information
on anatomy, function and common dysfunctional or disease states are covered.
The aorta and instruments that are placed into the major vessels and
the heart are reviewed. These courses are a prerequisite for the advanced
courses and complete mastery of the information and thorough knowledge
is required before advancing to the advanced courses. CME testing is
strongly encouraged. |

Advanced Transesophageal Echocardiography |
| |
|
| |
The advanced echocardiography
courses include a series of specialize lectures and material (along with
video loops, animations, and images) of unusual diseases or difficult
management scenarios. Again, the valves and aorta are covered. Fetal
and congenital diseases, cardiomyopathies, heart failure, transplantation
and cardiac tumors or masses are reviewed. Artifacts and specialized
application of the echocardiogram are covered. Once the student has mastered
this material and demonstrated proficiency via the CME exam the student
should be able to exhibit proficiency with echocardiography. |
